The superior holiday cottages at The Plas Talgarth in Pennal, Wales overlook the river Dovey on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Day time activities and excursions to be enjoyed are numerous from surrounding hills, clay pigeon shooting to fishing or a stroll in the park. Just five minutes away are the sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay and, closer still, Machynlleth. Snowdonia has many attractions on offer to the visitor from underground audiovisual tours to farm tours, narrow gauge railway trips through breathtaking countryside and for the more adventurous, white water rafting.
Nearby attractions include, Snowdon Mountain Railway, the beautiful Bondnant Gardens, the fantasy village of Portmeirion, Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Ffestiniog Steam Railway, Sygyn Copper Mines, various Lake Railways, Castles at Caernarfon, Conwy, Beaumaris and Penrhyn, the famous Swallow Falls, delightful Fairy Glen, abandoned mining hamlet, secluded lakes, bridges and picnic areas.

The superior holiday cottages at The Plas Talgarth in Pennal, Wales offer two types of accommodation in the grounds, luxury bungalows with private patios or balconies and apartments within the mansion house itself. There are ramps for the disabled. All mansion apartments and lodges have colour tvs, telephones, towels and linen. All lodges have fully fitted kitchens, dishwashers, balconies or patios. Mansion apartments sleep 2, and have a living area with refrigerator, microwave and all crockery and cutlery. Accommodation sleeping 4 has 1 bedroom with either double or bunk beds, a double sofa in the living area and a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave and all necessary crockery and cutlery. The De Luxe lodges sleeping 6 have either 3 bedrooms, one double, one twin, one bunk bedroom, one bathroom plus separate wc, or 2 bedrooms with 1 double, 1 twin plus pull down double wall bed in the living area and 1 bathroom. Accommodation sleeping 8 has 3 bedrooms, 2 twin or double by request,1 bunk bedded room, plus a pull down double wall bed in the living area, with 2 bathrooms.
The bungalows and villas are grouped around a beautiful 17th century Georgian Mansion with landscape grounds set in 50 acres of rich parkland. There's a pub and a bistro in the original farmhouse, and a splendid restaurant with views over the valley and the Champney’s designed Health and Beauty Centre. With fully trained and expert staff on hand to help and advise you, you can treat yourself to a relaxing massage, or even a session in the steam room, Sauna and solarium, or choose from the latest beauty treatments, including aromatherapy and reflexology. Nearby there is golf, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing and fell walking, plus regular live entertainment. Please note there are a number of steps at the Resort, which may not be suitable for guests with mobility problems.

To reach The Plas Talgarth at Pennal in Wales from the M6 north
take the M56 to Chester. From Chester take the A483 through Wrexham and onto Welshpool. At Welshpool take the A458 to Machynlleth. From the Midlands M6 take the M54 towards Telford and Shrewsbury, then onto the A5 to Shrewsbury. At Shrewsbury go onto the A458 through Welshpool and onto Machynlleth. From Machynlleth drive through Machynlleth and turn right at the T junction signposted Aberdyfi. At a small bridge outside the town, turn left signposted Pennal and follow the road to the village with speed bumps at the approach. At the end of the village just after a narrow bridge, turn left into Plas Talgarth entrance, follow the drive to the Resort.
