The Markland Coastal Resort is located at the top of Cape Breton Island just off the Cabot Trail on the Atlantic Ocean. Our 70 acre property with a sandy ocean beach to the east, pristine lake to the south, and boreal forest to the north is a choice spot for nature lovers. Cape Breton Island was named one of the four most beautiful islands in the world by Conde Nast Traveller (Dec/94). It is located at the northeast tip of Nova Scotia, Canada. The island is renowned for its outstanding beauty and friendly, relaxed, and genuine hospitality. It offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in North America. The spectacular touring route, the Cabot Trail, contours the large northern peninsula. Sitings of whales, eagles and moose are common in the highlands where the Cape Breton Highlands National Park provides tourists with many hiking trails, look-off views and interpretive assistance.
