This property makes an ideal touring base, a car being essential to fully explore all the lovely area has to offer.
Cockfield has a well stocked local store, 50 yards away, staying open until 10pm most nights. The village is also serviced by two public houses, a Chinese takeaway, butcher, newsagent and pharmacy. A regular bus service runs between Barnard Castle and Bishop Auckland.

7 Prospect Square in County Durham is a cosy, detached stone cottage, built in 1850, situated in the pretty rural village of Cockfield. The cottage offers comfortable accommodation for three guests and comprises of an open plan living/fully equipped kitchen area downstairs and two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The bathroom has both a bath and over the bath electric power shower.
At the rear of the cottage is a secluded stone covered sun trap area, ideal for BBQs and al-fresco dining. Patio furniture and a small gas barbecue are available for guests to use. Please note this is a no smoking property.
