Lovely week on a canal boat, it was certainly a different kind of holiday (classed as an adventure holiday), which we enjoyed as you could do as much or as little boating along the canal as you wanted - we opted for an easy route with only one small lock and 3 tunnels to navigate. A couple of minor niggles - the Aldi heating system on the boat is now obsolete and unless you knew what you were doing (and luckily my husband did) I think it would have been very difficult to get it working and the weather made it necessary to use the heating sometimes - all other appliances worked well. The boat furnishings and fittings were looking a bit worn and tired, but this didn't detract from our enjoyment. If you are tall and broad shouldered you might struggle with the narrow corridor that runs down the inside full length of the narrow boat & the beds were too short for my husband who is 6' 1". A nice touch was the welcome pack of tea/coffee/milk , complimentary pack of cards and waterproof clothing for rainy days. In addition to linen & towels we were also provided with a kitchen pack comprising washing up liquid, dishcloth, floor cloth, pan scrub and bathroom toilet cleaner & air-freshener. The staff at the marina couldn't have been more helpful. All in all would recommend a canal boat holiday.

This was our 3rd timeshare canal boat holiday and as usual we thoroughly enjoyed the week. The boat was clean and well equipped although very compact for 4 adults. The marina staff were very friendly and helpful and responded quickly when we had a problem with the electricity on the boat.

Just back from another glorious week on the canals, this time completing the Cheshire Ring. Boat pick up went smoothly, and it was appreciated that staff took account of our many previous weeks and allowed us to get underway without a full induction (we had both watched the compulsory video online - again - as a refresher, before leaving home). Boat was clean and comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need including bathroom toiletries and kitchen supplies. There were also waterproof coats should we have needed them, and a brolly for any really bad weather, although as it turned out we were pretty fortunate weatherwise. We called up the base the day after we set out because the fridge wasn't working, and got an immediate response, pointing us to a switch that needed to be turned back on, after which all was well. Can't really fault the boat or the company in any way - very happy, and looking forward to our next week in September from their Worcester base. For anyone who hasn't tried narrowboating, we would highly recommend it. If there are no canals in heaven, I'm not sure I'd want to go there!
